The European Union: Economics, Policies and History Paperback – January 1, 2008

"The European Union: Economics, Policies and History" provides a multidisciplinary account of the European Union. The current edition concentrates primarily on the policies of the European Union but retains an economics grounding. The text's multidisciplinary approach makes it relevant to students of business, economics, politics and international relations. Given the changing nature of the content in this title, it is important that the content, both in the book and on the OLC, is revised and updated. For example, since the current edition published, a number of new policies, such as environment and energy, have become more prominent. Updates to the new edition will include a new chapter on the Lisbon Strategy, and coverage of Budget and Common Agricultural Policy will be updated to include more on disadvantages of the CAP for consumers. The chapters on Environment and Energy and Competition and Industrial Policy are more important now. These chapters will be revised to include more analysis of these topics, as opposed to description. The OLC will also be updated to include more of the desdcriptive material to allow for more analysis of topics in the text itself.
